Hidden among the traditional grains of India, Kodo Millet has been part of Indian food traditions for generations. Known as Kodra in parts of North and Central India and Varagu in South India, this humble millet has long been valued for its earthy flavour, hearty character and versatility. When carefully ground, the whole grain transforms into a fine, convenient flour that fits naturally into everyday Indian cooking.
Just Organik Organic Kodo Millet Flour is made from carefully selected organic Kodo Millet and processed under controlled conditions. The grains are hygienically cleaned and stone-ground using the traditional Chakki method to create a naturally textured flour while retaining the characteristic flavour and wholesome character of the grain.
Kodo Millet is naturally gluten-free and is a source of dietary fibre. It also contains naturally occurring plant compounds, including polyphenols, which contribute to the grain's natural nutritional profile. These qualities, along with its long history in Indian food traditions, make Kodo Millet an interesting grain to include when adding greater variety to everyday meals.
Its fine texture makes Kodo Millet Flour wonderfully versatile. Use it to prepare Kodo Millet Roti, Kodra Roti, chapati, paratha, cheela and dosa, or turn it into comforting porridge and traditional-style preparations. It can also be used for pancakes, puddings, ladoos and homemade snacks, or blended with other flours to create your own recipes.
Millets have traditionally been grown across India in diverse agricultural conditions, including areas where farmers work with limited water and challenging climates. Their resilience and adaptability have made them an important part of India's traditional farming and food heritage.
From a traditional Indian grain to a convenient flour for today's kitchen, Just Organik Organic Kodo Millet Flour brings together organic sourcing, careful processing and the traditional Chakki stone-grinding method to make an age-old millet easy to enjoy every day.
